(Bochum / New York, April 21, 2023) Easy and quick compliance with the Supply Chain Act combined with deep transparency in holistic supply chain management: at the Munich trade fair transport logistic 2023 (May 9 to 12), experts from IT specialist Setlog will show how companies can use software to make it easier to manage the Supply Chain Act that has been in effect in Germany since the beginning of the year. In hall A3 at booth 128, the supply chain experts will demonstrate various solutions of the advanced SCM software OSCA, short for “Online Supply Chain Accelerator”.

The tool with its five main functionalities for Procurement, Global Logistics, Quality Control, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been adapted to new market trends. Companies can use the time- and cost-saving digital solutions for their processes in a user-friendly way. Third-party systems can be connected to OSCA even more easily than before. This brings even greater transparency to supply chain networks. The solution is used by more than 150 brands. They use it to dissolve information silos and media discontinuities. With the help of standardized API interfaces, data can be exchanged between ERP, TMS, WMS and other systems of various supply chain partners. There are no more redundancies.

Setlog enhanced the software so that companies can also control multiple tiers of upstream suppliers with the tool. Using the tool now brings visibility up to Tier-8 and beyond for customers. “It is possible, for example, for fashion suppliers to use the software to connect right into cotton farms,” explains Ralf Duester, a member of Setlog’s board of directors.

Users of OSCA benefit from numerous advantages: For example, the CSR solution helps companies to implement the regulations of the Supply Chain Act more easily. “Suppliers of consumer goods or fashion usually have no alternative at all to global purchasing. Without digital supply chain management, however, these companies are easily left behind by competitors. With the help of powerful software, the bureaucratic effort required to comply with the Supply Chain Act is reduced. Surveys show that many medium-sized companies that do business with corporations realize now what the law means in practice,” explains Duester. With OSCA, users have a user-friendly tool with which they can master the complexity of topics such as CSR, supplier management, purchasing, logistics and quality control.

Prior to the enhancement of OSCA, Setlog spoke not only with industry associations, but also with customers. There was an exchange of experiences with Adler Modemärkte, Ernstings Family, Gerry Weber and KiK Textilien, among others, as well as many non-food companies in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. Numerous Setlog customers already use OSCA for CSR to monitor compliance with labor and social standards and to manage their suppliers and supply chain partners. KiK Textilien, for example, controls more than 800 audits per year in OSCA.

Setlog has recently been supporting companies in the real-time transportation tracking of their goods. For this purpose, the IT specialists from Bochum partner with Paris-based company Shippeo. Setlog customers can use a module and track their transports in real time. They also receive precise information on the estimated and actual time of arrival of their shipments (Estimated Time of Arrival, ETA, and Actual Time of Arrival, ATA). The advantage is that users receive an immediate warning in the event of a delivery delay. They can then react immediately to the disruption and adjust the transportation process. This leads to greater predictability in their supply chains.

“Now more than ever, accurate prediction of arrival time and real-time tracking of the shipment is a key competitive advantage for shippers,” says Christian Trappe, Sales & Business Development Lead at Setlog. A German company is the first Setlog customer to rely on Shippeo’s solution: Wenko, a household goods supplier from Hilden, Germany, no longer wants to miss the benefits of real-time tracking of its goods.
Companies get full transparency about the status of their shipment very easily. There are several reasons for this:

● Shippeo’s tool can be completely integrated into the OSCA SCM solution via an interface (API) in just a few steps.

● Users have access to 90 percent of all ocean freight vessels.

● Users benefit from real-time container tracking that goes down to SKU level.

● Shippers remain digitally independent, meaning they can continue to cooperate with their carriers, contract logistics providers, and other partners and do not have to replace their service providers.

● An innovative early warning system is created that allows better control of the delivery to the warehouse. Not only are delays avoided, but inventory and demand are matched and optimized.

Shippeo’s solution has high market penetration. The company has the largest reach in this area, with access to more than 150,000 logistics service providers. In addition, around 1,000 TMS and telematics systems are connected to the system.
