The Meetups at Setlog

As part of “Digital Innovation Ruhr”, Setlog organises a free evening event on various topics, such as IT and start-ups, in its own rooms every month.

Since the aim of my project inSTUDIES at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum is to motivate students to start up a business and to make university teaching more practice-oriented, I always look out for exciting startup events in Bochum. In this context, I first became aware of the Meetup “Startup 1.01 – Die Zukunftsmetropole Ruhr” via startupweek:RUHR in September 2017. From the very first moment I was enthusiastic about the open and cordial atmosphere at Setlog. The hospitality is not only reflected in the cordiality of the Setlog team, but also in the cosy atmosphere with cool drinks and delicious food. The “Setlog Sightseeing”, where all interested Meetup participants are guided through the Setlog rooms, is also very exciting. Here you can learn more about the everyday life of the setlog and marvel at the modern and open staff and room concept. After the sightseeing, the expert lecture begins. The lectures are very informative but also very entertaining. Since concrete examples of use are always shown, you can take many tips for your own everyday life with you. Setlog is very open and versatile in its choice of topics and is happy to receive requests for topics for upcoming Meetups. The contents of the lecture can then be deepened in a relaxed atmosphere and the many networking opportunities can be used. I have already made and deepened many valuable contacts through the Meetups and won some of these contacts as practice guests for my apprenticeship at the RUB. For example, I was able to win Guido Brackelsberg – founding partner and managing director for sales and business development at Setlog GmbH – for an exciting lecture at the Idea Lab and Nora Breuker – Digital Marketing Strategist at Setlog GmbH and Chief Community Manager at From Fat to Finish Line – for my talks during the seminar. Meanwhile I am all the more happy to visit the Meetups because you know many faces, get to know new ones and look forward to the next reunion. Since my first Meetup in September 2017, I have taken part in many Meetups and the last one in August 2018 I even took 15 students from my Summerschool with me. I would like to anchor the Meetups also in the coming semesters as a practical event in my seminar, so that students get to know Setlog as an agile company and become aware of the many possibilities of the Meetups.

With this in mind, a big thank you to the great Setlog team for the exciting Meetups and the great hospitality! I am very much looking forward to the upcoming topics ?
