Companies that violate it face heavy fines. Already in 2020, the goal was set that at least 50% of German companies with more than 500 employees must have introduced effective human rights protection measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfollowing actions are to be taken and guaranteed as protective measures under\nthe umbrella of the German Supply Chain Act: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Risk\nassessment for people and the environment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Countermeasures\nin the event of human rights violations and environmental degradation <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\nTransparency regarding the measures taken<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Complaint\npoints for aggrieved parties<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Adequate\nhuman rights diligence<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Avoidance\nof child labor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Wages\nwhich guarantee livelihood adapted to the country of production<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the German Supply Chain Act, the promises made to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/en\/hrbodies\/hrc\/pages\/home.aspx\">UN Human Rights Council<\/a> in 2011 are now to be kept. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The German government has finally passed the new Supply Chain Act.
