Now and then we go to job fairs to introduce ourselves to interested and potential new employees. But why are we doing this?
Job fairs are a great recruiting platform for us. In particular at internal university job fairs such as the REALITY in Dortmund or Stellenwerk Jobmesse in Bochum there are plenty of clever, young, fresh minds who are looking for variety with practical relevance in addition to the otherwise more theoretical study curricula. Not only we as an employer benefit from the advantages of such job fairs. A job fair for Bachelor and Master students is often a good place to go and a great career springboard for graduates. But of course, non-students who are looking for a new career start or new challenges, for example, also benefit from the wide range of job and career fairs.
What other advantages do job fairs have? Firstly, they provide a great platform for us to establish ourselves as a top employer in the region. At the same time, our presence also strengthens our brand awareness. We see another advantage in the fact that contacts at such events are simply made much faster and easier. We get a direct impression of the people we talk to and can weigh up who suits to us the best. If the chemistry is right, this usually leaves a positive impression on us. At job fairs we also always get a good insight into what is in demand on the job market. What is it that applicants are looking for? What does an employer have to bring along to score with potential employees?
